What’s a Micro Market and How Can it Benefit You? Part Three: Technology
Last blog we discussed the many benefits of having a micro market for the employees and for the employers. Today we will talk about the technology connected to the micro markets.
The Avenue C Kiosks. Each micro market has an Avenue C kiosk that customers purchase the products on.
Creating an Account. The neat thing about these kiosks is that you can create your own account and access it through your finger print or loyalty card. Creating an account is very easy. All you have to do is touch account manager, select new account, and put in all of the information it asks. You can choose between a finger print or a card of any time to scan into your account. Once you have done that and entered in your name, a pin code, and your email address, the next time you want to access your account, just select existing account and scan your finger (or card)! That’s it!
Accepted Payments. Once you have created an account, you may choose to pay with your account or use a credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Google Wallet, or connect & Pay App for that one time. If you choose to pay with your account, all you have to do is log in, scan the item you want to buy, and go! You can add money to your account by either inserting dollar bills (the machine does not give cash back) or using your credit/debit card to add a certain amount. The account payment option is quick and easy!
Canteen’s Connect & Pay Mobile App. Ever heard of the phrase “There’s an app for that” for just about everything? Well that serves to be true. Yes, there is even an app for the micro markets! This app is available for free through the app store for Apple and Android users. Once you have downloaded the app and created your account, you may add money on it with you credit and debit card.
Then when you go to pay for something in the micro market, all you have to do is pull up the app and scan the barcode on it. The kiosk will scan the barcode and process your purchase!
Cameras. Every micro market location has security cameras that overlook the market. These cameras are monitored by someone at Crickler every day. When the Crickler Vending employee catches someone stealing from the market, the employee tells the company and shows them who it is. So, even though theft happens, we are here to make sure it can be stopped.
Personal Accounts. Only you can access your account. Because of the finger print technology and the pin code you use, it makes it near to impossible for someone to sneak into your account and use your hard-earned money.
Summary of “What is a Micro Market and How Can it Benefit You”.
Micro markets are a great choice for the break room for the employees and the employers. There are a variety of different products to choose from and many are local and fresh! There are also many benefits as discussed before including saving the employees time during lunch, giving them more energy if they are running on an empty stomach, and they can receive promos by activating an account. Benefits for the employer include giving back to their employees by showing them how much the employer appreciates them, it is a competitive advantage, and it’s the new upcoming tread. On the technology side, the Avenue C kiosks which are located at every micro market are easy to use and are surrounded by security checks. Such as having a finger print or loyalty card for your account and the security cameras that keep an eye on the micro market.
